Mike began his career at 16 with Safeway in Kellogg, ID, before transitioning to Stiens IGA, where he spent five years as a Meat Cutter and later became Meat Manager. He then spent 38 years with West Coast/Supervalu, working his way up from Meat Associate to VP of Fresh for the West Coast Region. In 2015, Mike joined Trig's, where he served as VP of Smokehouse and later added Retail Meat to his role. Over his career, Mike has gained certifications in Buying, Managing, and completed the Dale Carnegie Course.
Mike is passionate about managing multiple projects, tracking progress through spreadsheets, and helping others reach their goals. He enjoys working at Trig's for its commitment to promoting from within and for its accomplishments as a company. Among his proudest achievements are managing the most profitable meat departments at Supervalu and helping many employees advance in their careers.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys gardening, completing projects in the woods, and helping out at his church. His “passion word” is “Family,” which reflects his belief in its importance. After over 51 years in retail and wholesale, Mike looks forward to the next chapter and is grateful to Trig’s, Bob, and his colleagues for an amazing eight years.
