Nate started working in high school working part time at a local independent Sentry Foods store in West Allis, WI. Continued to work there on breaks from college for a couple years. Went to school in Stevens Point, WI and started working at Trig's County Market as a part time front end associate in 2006. Then worked in Cellar 70 as a part time associate, promoted to HR Leader in 2008. Transferred to our Trig's Wausau location in 2010 as the HR Leader, promoted to Assistant Store Director in 2013 for Trig's Stevens Point, transferred as the Assistant Store Director to Trig's Everest Metro in 2015, promoted to HR Coordinator in 2016, promoted to HR Director in 2018.

B.S. in Biology, B.S. in Wildlife Management and Ecology, Store Director Institute Course Study Completion, Wicklander-Zulawski Workplace Investigative Interviewing Strategies Certification

2021 -Wisconsin Grocer's Association Supermarket Hero Award (Recognizes contributions to the grocery industry during the COVID pandemic), 2022 - Progressive Grocer's GenNext Award, 2023- Wisconsin Grocer Association's Excellence in Operations Award, 2023 - Solberg Award
What parts of the job are your favorites? What are you passionate about? What gives you energy in this industry?
Favorite parts of the job include organizing events, programs, and training exercises at all levels of leadership within the scope of the job. Being involved with many facets of the company's operations from policies and procedures to training and development. Teamwork being executed at the highest level gets me excited and brings the energy to my job. Having a positive influence in the experience that people will have working for the company keeps me motivated.
Why do you enjoy working for the company?
It's a fast-paced environment that gets you connected quickly to others around you (peers, colleagues, and customers). Very team focused, which makes it fun! It's family oriented and focused on meeting you where you are and supporting the things that are important to you.
What are some things that you are proud of that you accomplished, implemented, or executed while working for the company?
Orchestrating and creating the annual TAS Awards event that celebrates the annual successes of individuals and teammates across the entire landscape of the company. The development and launch of the Influential Leadership curriculum, which includes four classroom sessions designed to help mold and build up leaders within the company.
What are some things you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Running, Hiking, Camping, Traveling, Spending time with family.
What is your"passion word" on your name badge and why did you choose it?
Running - always enjoyed the sport of running. Ran cross country and track in high school and college. Have participated in many half marathons and one full marathon.
