Steve Heise // Director of Pricing, Analytics, & IS

Steve started in August of 1984 as an evening supervisor. Was promoted to a Dairy and Frozen Manager in 1985. I transferred to the Rhinelander store in 1986 as the assistant store director. In March of 1987 I was promoted to the store director. I was in that role for 28 years. In April of 2015, I took on the role of Director of Pricing and Analytics. I developed our current program of central pricing for the stores along with our back door receiving program. My first task was to bring 7 stores onto the new LOC software. I moved onto my current role as Sr Director of Pricing / Analytics / IS in the fall of 2024. I now work with our technology partners to keep our information systems running smoothly.... Prior to working at Trigs, I spent 6 years with National Supermarkets in Rhinelander. I began as a bagger and worked my way up to the Dairy and Frozen Food manager. I worked with many dedicated leaders during that time. I spent a year as a route salesman for Tombstone Pizza as well.....they instilled in me the concept to offer a value to the customer while keeping the company profitable at the same time.

What types of certifications, education, or other licensing have you acquired?

I graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1979. I spent 2 years at Nicolet College studying Accounting, Merchandising, Advertising and Business Management.

What kind of awards, recognition, or honors have you been a part of in your career? Include years, title of honor/award,etc.

What parts of the job are your favorites? What are you passionate about? What gives you energy in this industry?

I love to teach, coach and train our TA Solberg associates. It's rewarding to see team members overcome hurdles and obstacles that previously prevented them from achieving their goals. It's rewarding to see those same associates now in leadership positions teaching others the same..

Why do you enjoy working for the company?

It's nice to work for a company that is so involved in the community. They provide many opportunities to the associates who we work with. I like to see the constant reinvestment into our facilities as well.

What are some things that you are proud of that you accomplished, implemented, or executed while working for the company?

I was proud to work alongside with many industry professionals during my time with TA Solberg. Many of those individuals are no longer with us, but they had a major impact on my decision to make a career out of the grocery business. Teaching and coaching our many associates over the years has been a pleasure. Bringing new programs and software programs to the company was a challenge, but one I thoroughly enjoyed....

What are some things you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love spending free time with family and friends. Visiting relatives in Florida is always a favorite time of year for me...

What is your"passion word" on your name badge and why did you choose it?

My passion word is Family. That is another reason the grocery industry is so compatible for me. It all revolves around taking care of your family, from the guests who shop our stores, to the associates who work alongside us so that they can support their families, to supporting the families in our communities.

"The grocery industry has been a great opportunity for me to do something that I love to do. I cherish the opportunity to have worked alongside some of the finest leaders and people that you will ever meet. I sincerely appreciate all of the opportunities that have come my way. I am very thankful to both Trig and Tula Solberg for allowing me to be a part of their journey as they brought great stores and a great company to the Northwoods..."
