From Two Associates to Over 1,000
Trig and Tula Solberg opened Trig’s Red Owl, a small 5,000 square foot store in Land O’ Lakes, Wisconsin. Two associates were hired – a cashier and a meat cutter.
T.A. Solberg Company, Inc. grew to be more than 1,000 associates across eight stores in Northern Wisconsin. Following the sale of our Wausau, Everest Metro, and Stevens Point stores, our company employs approximately 575-600 associates to help us operate four Trig’s stores in the Central and Northern Wisconsin communities of Tomahawk, Rhinelander, Minocqua, and Eagle River.
Serving the Northwoods With a Fresh Look
Each store is a complete one-stop experience with an expansive deli, service meat counter, Cellar 70 Wine and Spirits, Floral & Home, full service pharmacy and an online ordering and delivery or curbside pickup program.
Each location is designed to uniquely serve its community in a very personal and committed way, taking on the personality of its region. But most importantly, Trig’s goal is to make sure you get the best service no matter what.
Did You Know...
• When Trig and his wife, Tula opened their first store in 1971 in Land O’ Lakes, Wisc. there were two hired employees as well as Tula working in the Deli and Trig on the floor. The other employees consisted of a meat cutter and a lane checker. Now there are more than 1,000 associates.
• Trig and Tula created a “Sunshine” fund in 2017 that supports associates experiencing financial hardships. In 2021, $27,325.07, was gifted to associates.
• In October 2020, Trig’s associates raised more than $21,000 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The amount raised was the highest year-over-year increase the non-profit has seen in its history of the annual October fundraising campaign.
