Trig’s Smokehouse still holds the title for “World’s Best Brat”
– an honor that was awarded in 2010 and one that still holds true today.
The World’s Best Brat competition, held annually in Watertown Wisc., was an invite-only competition where an expert panel of judges, in a blind taste, judged the competing brats based on appearance, aroma, texture, flavor and overall impression.
Not only did Trig’s Smokehouse traditional bratwurst take top honors, it beat some of the biggest names in bratwurst makers and was also voted a Fan Favorite. The same year, Trig’s Smokehouse Brats were named the Grand Champion by the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors.
After the 2010 event, the annual competition was canceled. And, that’s why Trig’s still holds the title for the World’s Best Brat!
After those wins, the Smokehouse brand gained so much popularity that in 2012, it moved from a small room in the back of the Rhinelander store into a 29,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility.
Now, the award-winning Trig’s Smokehouse creates nearly one hundred varieties of the freshest smoked sausages, hams, bacons, meat sticks, and award-winning brats all year round!

• The original name of Trig’s Smokehouse was Smoke Shoppe and it was located in the back of the Rhinelander store. It’s now located in a 29,000 square-foot facility.
• Trig’s Smokehouse is federally licensed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration with a FDA inspector at the facility daily.
